Nina Guzzetta

Nina Guzzetta is a long time meditator. She first began meditating in 2004 under the instruction of Swami Yogeshananda at the Vedanta Center of Atlanta. Since then, she has continued to cultivate her meditation practice. She has studied and been on retreat with other meditation teachers including Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Kittisaro and Thanissara. In 2019, Nina began an intensive two year on-line training program in mindfulness meditation sponsored by the University of California, Berkley. In February of 2021 she received certification as a “Mindfulness Meditation Teacher”. She will use the skills learned in her training program as well as her own insights about meditation to teach an introductory course in mindfulness meditation.

Nina is also a physician, specializing in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology, at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Since completing her training in 1995, Nina’s primary work has been anesthetizing children with congenital heart disease who require corrective heart surgery. She credits her long standing career as a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist directly to her practice of mindfulness and meditation.
