Melba Payan

After years of stress, anxiety, and a mind riddled with negativity and limiting beliefs, Melba found yoga in 2016 by following the strong desire in her heart to heal. She fell in love not only with the physical asana but with the spiritual and energetic aspects of the practice. The powerful connection of mind and body through movement and breath has given her life more meaning and has allowed her to live life more authentically on and off the mat. The transformation that occurred in her life was so powerful that this led her to want to share the healing power of yoga with others.

Melba is a 500 hr Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She completed both her 200 and 300 hrs at Johns Creek Yoga under Sheila Ewers. She holds additional certifications in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and  Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Melba is also a Reiki Master and a Facilitator of Sacred Women’s Circles. Melba is passionate about making yoga accessible to all and she seeks to make her classes a place where students can cultivate self-acceptance, balance, stillness, abundance, love, and compassion and use movement and breath to transform mind, body, and spirit.

Melba was a high school Spanish teacher for 18 years. She enjoys exploring new places, adventure,  traveling, reading, and connecting with friends and family. She continues to live her yoga by deepening her mindfulness, intuition, and truth, practicing self-care, and keeping an open heart and an open mind. She enjoys life to the fullest by living with purpose and following her bliss.
