Kathy Koher

I began practicing yoga in March of 2002. I came to yoga because of an ankle injury that led to
some severe back problems. My friends kept telling me yoga would heal what ailed me. I fell in
love with Ashtanga after my first practice. Having been an athlete my whole life, I was initially
drawn to the physical aspect of yoga. Over time, I realized there was so much more to this
practice than the physical. I felt this indescribable lightness after practice; this was my
introduction to the spiritual side of yoga, which also led me to develop a daily meditation and
pranayama practice. I found what she didn’t even know I was looking for.

Each day, I roll out my mat and do my best with whatever I have to offer that day. I’ve learned
over the years to practice acceptance of the ups and downs both on and off the mat. Growth
is a constant, whether physically, mentally, or spiritually, as long as I remain open to it. I hope
that as a teacher, I can pass on the same joy and peace I’ve found in my practice. I also hope to
show people that with a daily commitment to yourself and the practice, the possibilities are
endless.

I love teaching retreats because they allow me to connect with people more
deeply and share my love of yoga and pranayama. It’s even better because I get to do it with
one of my favorite people in the world!

I am also a health and wellness coach. I help people find consistency and sustainability on and
off the mat.
