Jill Elkin E-RYT 200, RYT-500, YACEP Certified iRest® Meditation Teacher, Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher

Jill began her yoga and meditation experience as a young child, learning asana and meditation techniques from her mother. Her contemplative practice grew in her teenage years, as she explored meditation from a Buddhist perspective.

Throughout her adultlife, yoga and meditation continued to be explored as a way for Jill to manage stress, explore emotions, and feel truly alive. Her continued interest in a deeper connection to somatic experiencing lead her to a yoga teacher training focusing on the therapeutic applications of yoga and meditation. She has completed an advanced training in the therapeutic applications of yoga and holds additional certifications in restorative yoga, yin yoga, and yoga nidra- specifically iRest.

Through a multi year intensive certification process of iRest, her yoga and meditation teaching, and personal practice, has found a secure anchor and foundation of well-being. Jill teaches from felt experience, facilitating both movement and stillness practices from a grounded sense of wholeness. Her classes invite students to experience yoga as a deeper connection to life- from a calm and connected body, to a peaceful and open mind. Jill holds space for each students’ unique experience of life and leads classes with a trauma-informed perspective learned from her many wonderful teachers. Jill is honored to learn from esteemed teachers such as Judith Hanson Lasater, Richard Miller, Stephanie Lopez, and Marlysa Sullivan. She has also trained and worked as a stress management specialist for cardiac patients, through Ornish Lifestyle Medicine; and volunteers with hospice patients, offering stress management and meditation skills to patients at end of life.
