Many of us hunger for tranquility, calmness, and relaxation but find these mind states to be elusive. More than ever, our lives have become busier, noisier, more distracted, and more chaotic.  For many of us, our attention is habitually captured by the superficial; TV, emails, texts, tweets, and Facebook posts. We live in the continual fear of missing out. With all of this distraction and busyness, we can lose track of our priorities. We can end up in a chronic state of reactivity, which has a negative effect on our mental and physical health.

Mindfulness, the practice of cultivating nonjudgmental present moment awareness, counters this state of agitation and emotional discontent. Mindfulness meditation, set in a beautiful natural environment, can facilitate the conditions for rest and repair to the overstressed nervous system.

Intensive and prolonged mindfulness practice on a five-day retreat can also lead to liberating insight, a kind of clear seeing that opens to a greater sense of freedom and wisdom. Each day will include meditation, yoga, and evening talks on various aspects of mindfulness & meditation to support and enhance your practice.

To inspire inner calmness, tranquility, and insight, we hold this retreat in noble silence. Spending this time in silence allows us to go deep within ourselves and become more fully awake to our lives.

Please join us in the mountains of North Georgia this fall to feast on your life and the life of this beautiful planet.
