Special Summer Retreat on Lam Rim
With Geshe Ngawang Phende
July 30 - August 4, 2017
The lam rim provides a step-by-step guide through all the stages of the path to enlightenment. This retreat will cover the entire lam rim text and utilize methods from all three scopes of practice. This will be a traditional Tibetan Buddhist retreat with three sessions per day. Each session will be two hours and will be split into one hour of teaching and one hour of practice. Over five days we will cover all three scopes and the practices that support them. The retreat will be held in noble silence from dawn until the evening tea break with group discussion of the day’s teachings strongly encouraged.
PREREQUISITE: This will be a traditional Tibetan Buddhist retreat and students planning to attend should already be familiar with the practices and have strong desire to develop a deeper understanding of the conventional bodhicitta and ultimate reality philosophies. It would be helpful to have Je Tsong Khapa’s text The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment or Pabongka Rinpoche, Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand.
Check-in will be before dinner on Sunday, July 30th, and will end after morning session on Friday, August 4th. There will be three sessions per day with breaks between sessions for practice, hiking or rest. There will be Dharma discussion during dinner.
40% deposit is due upon registration, and final payment is due by June 30th. The retreat is non-refundable, but transferrable to another person.
Elohee is an alcohol, children and pet free facility.
Please contact Zack Allen, cap.zack@outlook.com for questions about the retreat.
