Did You Know that the first use of art as a therapeutic discipline was developed in the 1940’s in both the U.S. and Europe?

Rekindle Your Spirit a brushstroke at a time –   therapeutic BOWL PAINTING Friday May 31st from 7pm – 9pm.  Phil Dennis from the Georgia Mountain Food Bank will lead and guide this phenomenal art therapy session, which allows us to be of service to our children in Hall County.

Did you know that one in four children in Hall County do not know where their next meal is coming from?  Join us to stamp out childhood hunger with the Art Therapy Empty Bowls Painting. Ali is hosting a Bowl Painting Celebration to benefit the Empty Bowl Luncheon held by the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.

Bowls, glazes, and supplies will be provided for this experience.  All bowls from the Bowl Painting Experience will be used as donations for the annual Empty Bowls Luncheon on September 24, 2019.  Guests that attend pay $30.00 to attend the 11th Annual Empty Bowl Luncheon.  As the guests arrive they choose their favorite bowl as a memorable reminder that“Till No One Is Hungry” we will continue to work together and be of service to our community and children.

Your bowl, one bowl, will help provide 150 meals while increasing awareness of food insecurity in our state. Discover art therapy in the form of bowl-painting and rekindle your spirit one brush stroke at a time.

TAI CHI:   Renew Your Mind and Restore Your Body

Picture for Tai Chi text

Sifu Hector Salas, founder of My Life Tai Chi and master instructor since 1985, will provide Tai Chi sessions throughout the weekend.   Join us as we experience the elegance of Tai Chi and the Fan.  We will provide an experience you are sure to remember and take home to practice. We invite you to open your heart and mind to the exciting prospects and possibilities that we have in store for you. Tai Chi is a gentle exercise that promotes muscular strength, stability, and fitness. Tai Chi exercises regulate all systems within the body improving digestion, respiration and circulation. As the movements are performed in a relaxed manner, this can also lead to a reduction in stress-related disorders. The low-impact nature of the routines improves the condition of bones, joints and muscles without strain while encouraging balance, focus, flexibility and co-ordination to promote health and vitality within the individual.

Tai Chi is recognized by the Chinese Government and many health institutes around the world as the form of exercise that offers one of the greatest all-round benefits to health.

If you have any questions or would like additional information about the program, please contact Ali at alicebrockwell@yahoo.com or call her at 954-290-4344.
